Creating directories, selecting placement of directories

Cloud4Y offers services of virtual infrastructure placement in several data centers simultaneously. Learn more about the benefits in the article.

You need to know the internal names of the data center:

DATA CENTER 1 - M41

DATA CENTRE 2 - K41

It is highly recommended that you read the article on determining which data center the organization's infrastructure is located in!

To create a directory using the new (HTML5) interface, open a menu and click Libraries:

next is Catalogs section:

click New

You see the catalogue creation wizard

If you are using accommodation in one data center, you just need to think up a directory name and (optionally) a description. After clicking OK the catalogue will be created. If you are using all the advantages of hosting in several data centers, then you need to select the placement of the directory in the same data center in which it will be used, otherwise deployment of templates will take a long time:

You can also change the storage place of already existing directories (which, for example, were created before switching to placement in several data centers). To do this, open the list of directories and open the directory menu:

click Storage Policies

select where to store directory

Then it will be the same, only for the old (Flash) interface:

To create a directory, you should right-click and select Add Catalog:

This opens a wizard that will be used to create the directory. On the first step, you should specify the name and (optionally) description of the directory:

Next - choose a storage placement. If you use one data center, click Next, but if you are using all the advantages of multiple data centers, it is recommended to select where exactly the created directory will be placed:

In order to change the storage location of the previously created catalog, right-click on the catalog and choose Properties:

Select the Storage tab and then change the placement:
