How to change the number of CPU and RAM in the virtual machine?

To change the number of CPU cores and/or RAM of the virtual machine:

1. In the Cloud Control Panel select "Virtual Machines", press "DETAILS" button on the virtual machine.

2. In the properties of the virtual machine on the "Hardware" tab, pay attention to the checkboxes "Virtual CPU hot add" and "Memory hot add":

- If these checkboxes are ticked, you can increase the number of processor cores and RAM of the virtual machine without turning it off (provided that the "VMWare Tools" package is installed and functioning normally in the virtual machine's operating system).

  • If there are no ticks, you must first turn it off to increase the number of processor cores and RAM of the virtual machine.
  • If you need to reduce the number of processor cores or RAM of the virtual machine, you should in any case first turn it off.

3. In the properties of the virtual machine, go to the "Hardware" tab.

Then in the "CPU" section specify the required number of processors and processor cores, in the "Memory" section specify the required amount of RAM.

4. Press "SAVE" to apply the changes.
