Manual for VDI configuration using View Agent Direct-Connection Plug In. Part 1. (HTML 5)

Part 1.

Creating a VM from a template.

VADC does not support multi-user connections and can only work in single-user mode. If you want to organize the simultaneous session for several users by means of VDAC, then each user needs its own VM.

In order to organize your work quickly with VDI, we have prepared for you a ready-made VM template with VADC installed.

1. After providing the access details to the control panel, open the corresponding link received during registration in the browser.

    1.1. Enter the user name obtained during registration in the corresponding upper field;

    1.2. Enter the password received during registration in the field below.

2. Create a virtual machine (hereinafter VM) from the finished template. There are 2 ways to create a VM from a template: create a new group (vApp) with the included VM from the number of templates, or create a VM from the template in an existing group. Consider both options.

2.1. Create a new group with the included VM

2.1.1. Select vApps;

2.1.2. Click Build new vApp

2.1.4. Enter Name.

2.1.5. Add VM, selecting ADD VIRTUAL MACHINE

2.1.6. In the field Name, enter the name of your virtual machine;

2.1.7. Select type From Template, and from the templates select WIN2012R2_VDI;

2.1.8. Confirm template selection, OK;

2.1.9. And create vApp with a virtual machine, CREATE;

  Network configuration.

2.1.10. Add the organization’s network to the created vApp (for more details, see also network settings).

2.1.11. Select Virtual Machines item in the menu. Find VM that we created in 2.1.5.item, go to its configuration, open the HARDWARE tab, where you can make the adjustments for:

  • number of required virtual processors (cores);
  • the number of cores per socket. The number of sockets is calculated automatically;
  • RAM ;

In the "NIC" section, you can connect network adapters to the networks in your vApp. If necessary, you can add an additional adapter. In the IP Mode, select Static-IP Pool. Remember or write down the IP Address that will be assigned to the virtual server.
