Creating a virtual machine

To create a virtual machine, you must create a group (vApp), which includes virtual machines. In the group, you can control the startup order of virtual machines, latency period at start and stop.

To create a group of machines (vApp), go to the vApps tab and click the "New vApp" button:

After that, the vApp creation window will open. Enter a name in the "Name" field and click the "Add virtual machines" button.

Name the virtual machine in the "Name" field. Select the "From Template" type.

Select the desired template from the list and click “OK”:

If you wish, you can add several virtual machines.

On the NICs tab, you can connect network adapters to the networks in your data center that are connected to vApp (see network settings

You can change other resources of the CPU, RAM, HDD of the virtual machine in the HARDWARE section

In the active panel in the "Virtual Machines" section, select the desired virtual machine, select "Power On" in the action menu. Wait until “Power on” appears in the “Status” column. This means that your virtual machine has started and its initial initialization has begun.

Initial initialization of the virtual machine lasts approximately 5 minutes. Therefore, after starting, WAIT 5 MINUTES for initialization to complete successfully. An attempt to connect to the virtual machine at this moment, or some other actions can lead to its non-operability!

AFTER the initialization is complete, you will need to find out the Administrator password of your new machine. To do this, go to the created virtual machine, and on the Guest OS Customization tab, opposite Auto generate password, you will see a password. Remember or write it down. You can learn more "How to determine the Administrator password on a VM deployed from a template"
